Hey stranger, my name is Olivia and I work in Interior Design here in Chicago, IL.
Interior design sort of found its way to me and what a match we’ve made so far. After attending Rhodes College where I majored in English and Creative Writing, as well as taking as many studio art courses I could, I found that I was looking for a way to create art on a more personal level, in a way that merged my love of fashion, sculpture, and writing. With a mom who couldn’t visualize spaces the way I can, I decided that rendering her dining room itself would be the only way to convince her that wallpaper, was in fact, the only right choice (it totally worked, btw). From that first drawing I knew I had found a way to merge my creative interests with my love of storytelling. I firmly believe that every space should evoke an essence of belonging and that color, light, and texture are an essential part of creating that environment. Underneath all the pretty, a foundation of function is one aspect of design that has always caught my attention, especially in regards to how we can best make spaces that are inclusive of all who enter. As far as my non-work life you can find me, at any time, cooking overly elaborate dinners for friends, collecting books, and making playlists for every occasion, no matter how niche.
xx Olivia
